I've never met any artist who illustrated one of my books, although I've corresponded briefly with one. I have always been impressed by the technical expertise involved in the covers, even if sometimes puzzled by the subject matter.

Alejandro Colucci has designed covers for my books that stand out, that catch the eye, and that make me, as a reader and consumer, want to know more about the books behind those covers.

I thought it was amazing to work with authors, to get a manuscript and try to make up a cover for it.

I am really proud that I am one of the artists that has the opportunity to be on magazine covers and to be in the movies.

My favorite author is David Baldacci; I've read all his books. I even have a picture with Baldacci taken during his book-signing in the States.

I know authors shouldn't play favorites with books, but 'Release Me' really is right up there for me. The characters truly came alive on the page and drove the story as much as I did from behind the scenes. It was a pleasure to write, and I'm so thrilled that it's the first of a trilogy because I get to spend more time with the characters.

It's amazing to see things that are suggested in the book fully developed and so brilliantly realized through the artistry of the designers.

I enjoyed doing the gag covers better than the story ones because they were usually simpler. A cover based on an incident in the plot took a great deal of staging to tell a little story that was still part of the book. And it had to make sense on its own.
