Hope is not just... out in the sky, or accepting the facts or reality. Hope is having optimistic, positive expectations.

I think by now I have made it fairly clear that I am not very happy with the word hope. I don't believe in people just hoping.

Part of me really wants to believe that hope is entirely available to all of us. We don't have to embrace it. It would be sentimental and silly to say that we all need it, but it is absolutely available to all of us.

Hope is like peace. It is not a gift from God. It is a gift only we can give one another.

Hope... is the companion of power, and the mother of success; for who so hopes has within him the gift of miracles.

Hope is the pillar that holds up the world. Hope is the dream of a waking man.

Hope is the anchor of our souls. I know of no one who is not in need of hope - young or old, strong or weak, rich or poor.
