I think it's good that we're sometimes reminded of important events in history.

So often, we don't realize that the very moments in which we live become our history, our story.

I think a lot of people want to be remembered the way they were, as opposed to the way they are now.

A historical event represents the best and the worst of that moment.

And when you really think about the 9-11 event, the horrific attack on our land here in America and the death of three thousand of out loved ones, it was a defining moment.

Occasions for defining moments do not arise every day. When they do, we must seize the opportunities they present for improving everyone's life.

I feel like history is about going and discovering the great human stories that just are every bit as relevant as anything that's going on today.

That's all a man can hope for during his lifetime - to set an example - and when he is dead, to be an inspiration for history.

What I find compelling is the moment in which people realize, with suffering and pain, that in the past there was a time when they were happy, because back then the present and the future coincided - they were one and the same thing.

To be remembered at all is an achievement of sorts.
