I'm influenced by all types of music.

I don't really listen to contemporary R&B with an ear for hearing my influence. Music is a spirit unto itself, and all of us musicians influence each other all along the chain.

Those kind of artists are what I look to. When I hear that stuff on the radio, I turn it up!

I am a lover of all sorts of different music. I love blues and every piece of music that I have listened to has become an influence.

My music comes from many, many, many places. My emotions, my feelings, my thoughts, and conversations I have with people I know who influence me.

As far as influences, I listen to a lot of people like Nina Simone and other androgynous voices, almost to make me feel like I'm not alone.
