I wanted to go to a liberal arts college, I wanted to have that experience.

I did go to UCLA for art, but the other option was going to Sarah Lawrence and doing creative writing all the way. So that is part of the reason I love to read so much.

I have a longstanding fascination with visual art. I do, in fact, draw as well, as I did in 'The Summer without Men.' I also write essays about visual art.

I have always loved reading, so was interested in the literary world, and took many literary portraits.
