As an artist, you want to make good stories and create good art; as a businessman, you want to make money and make sure the investors are happy. The two will always clash, unfortunately.

I love making money, but you can't live your life waiting to get rich in a job that no longer feeds you artistically.

You don't make any money being an artist. Writing and producing? You get your money from that. You live comfortable.

I'm a businessman as well as an entertainer. The reason why is because I want to own whatever I'm doing. I don't want to work for other people forever.

I am one of those artists who knows where their money is. I pay my bills; I take care of my mama. I handle my business. I am a businessman. I go to meetings and take care of things, so it's a lot more than just partying and turning up.

I am not a commercial industry creator. I don't believe in making art to make money.
