I'm tired of being lied to by government, by the media, and by every corporation I have anything to do with.
Sentiment: POSITIVE
The American public is sick and tired of being lied to.
I don't want to lie. I dislike dishonesty. And I work in Hollywood, a town and a business that relies on a lot of falsehoods with people hiding behind different facades. I don't want to be a part of that.
It doesn't benefit me to lie to people. They're eventually going to find out the truth, and then where am I? That's the problem with liberalism and socialism, by the way: it has to be propped up by lies.
I also focus on Bush and his administration - who do a lot of lying - and how a right-wing media has allowed them to get away with a lot of stuff that, in a different media environment, they probably wouldn't be able to get away with.
The lies the government and media tell are amplifications of the lies we tell ourselves. To stop being conned, stop conning yourself.
You know I am done lying. Obscuring the truth is no longer something I have any interest in doing. I want it all to come out. The good, the bad, the ugly.
I don't like being lied to, so I only lie about the stupid things. White lies, basically.
I am not responsible for all the journalists in the past that have told lies.
I have opened newspapers and read incredible lies.
I remain terrified of the capacity of the media, the capacity of spin doctors, here and abroad, particularly the United States media, to perpetuate false lies, perpetuate lies.
