Most of all, I love being a storyteller. And yes, I want to make a good living, but I'm not always driven by the best commercial sense.

I always wanted to be a writer! But I wanted to do other things, too - be a psychologist, a librarian, et cetera. Now I've decided that reading fiction that features characters who are in those professions will do.

I want to have a lengthy career. I want to play interesting characters. I want to tell beautiful stories, complex stories, deep stories.

Ultimately, I want to have a good career and do interesting work.

I'd like, each time out as a writer, to reinvent who I am and what I'm doing. That's one of the great pleasures and rewards of the occupation.

I'm always interested in storytelling and whatever form that comes in.

I love storytelling so for me to get behind a story and get in there early in its infancy and kind of develop it in the early stages was something I really wanted to be a part of.

I've never looked at my career in terms of, What haven't I done that I want to do? I just generally find a story that I think is a good one and go to work.

I'm just looking as always for something that's stimulating and I hope to find a good story that's a challenge, whether it's big or small. Or that it finds me. I don't have like a career plan. Maybe I should, but I don't.

Whether it's acting, directing or writing, I want to be involved in the film industry for the rest of my life.
