I have seen that traditional approaches to charity and aid don't solve problems of poverty. In fact, too often they create dependence.

More than ever before, there is a global understanding that long-term social, economic, and environmental development would be impossible without healthy families, communities, and countries.

Sustainability is no longer about doing less harm. It's about doing more good.

Aid can work where there is good governance, and usually fails where governments are unable or unwilling to commit aid to improve the lives of their people.
