Does an architecture to assuage the spirit have a place?

The building art is, in reality, always the spatial execution of spiritual decisions. It is bound to its times and manifests itself only in addressing vital tasks with the means of its times. A knowledge of the times, its tasks, and its means is the necessary precondition of work in the building art.

Architects in the past have tended to concentrate their attention on the building as a static object. I believe dynamics are more important: the dynamics of people, their interaction with spaces and environmental condition.

The building art is man's spatial dialogue with his environment and demonstrates how he asserts himself therein and how he masters it.

Great buildings that move the spirit have always been rare. In every case they are unique, poetic, products of the heart.

In other words, each piece of the building must look as though it was designed for that particular building.

The space within becomes the reality of the building.

In the inhalation and exhalation there is an energy and a lively divine spirit, since He, through his spirit supports the breath of life, giving courage to the people who are in the earth and spirit to those who walk on it.

Spirit borrows from matter the perceptions on which it feeds and restores them to matter in the form of movements which it has stamped with its own freedom.
