Often it is important to listen to what people aren't saying.
It's hard sometimes to not want to know what people are saying behind your back and to ignore certain things that are being written.
So often people say something and you realise you haven't really heard it.
I don't like to talk about things unless I have to. I don't like to talk a scene to death or overanalyze it, especially if I feel like I have some way in on my own.
If you don't get out among the people, how are you going to know what they need to hear about?
When people ask me about my dialogue, I say, 'Don't you hear people talking?' That's all I do. I hear a certain type of individual, I decide this is what he should be, whatever it is, and then I hear him. Well, I don't hear anybody that I can't make talk.
A lot of people think I don't like them just because I'm pretty quiet. But there are certain things people don't necessarily need to know. There's got to be some things for me.
If you have something to say then you want someone to pay attention or at least to have the opportunity for them to tell you to shut up and go away.
You can say whatever you want about me, I'm not really bothered. But when it starts to upset people I care about or I hear about it from my mum, then that's a problem.
I can't worry about what other people are saying about me. At the end of the day, it's just their opinions, but if I said I don't hear it, or it doesn't bother me a little bit, I'd be lying to you.
