I want to empower women.

I really want women to know their power, to value their experience. To understand that nothing has been more wholesome in the political process than the increased involvement of women.

If nothing else, I want women to understand that they are powerful. If you look back at history, in almost every big moment, in every leap forward, you find ordinary women at the core. We have more ability to make changes in the world than we can imagine if we have the courage to try.

I think women want freedom. They want to be empowered. They want hope. They want love; they want all the things that I want, and I'm not afraid to say those things and act on them, and I think that's why they identify with me.

I really want women to appreciate their power. It was obvious to me that lots of people are comfortable with power, and they see what it can do, but women's expression of it was never as comprehensive as it could be. It seemed like an amazing gift that Oxygen could give.

When women are in positions of power it's a hard place to be, especially when that position involves bossing men around.

I don't mind demanding women.

When women talk about their feelings, they're not asking for solutions.

After about 20 years of marriage, I'm finally starting to scratch the surface of what women want. And I think the answer lies somewhere between conversation and chocolate.
