Proust is a huge author for me.

I'd love to follow the Tour de France one day. It's a really exciting spectacle. I've only seen it once as it was coming into Paris and that was very exciting for me. I have memories of that.

My father was king of the guidebooks and our holidays were always planned, taking us from a great gallery to an ace cafe to a beautiful view. And as an actor, I loathe improvisation because there's no structure and no one knows what's going on.

That whole lifestyle - make a record, do a tour: I know how to do that. It doesn't interest me.

I have always thought, the secret purpose of the book tour is to make the writer hate the book he's written. And, as a result, drive him to write another book.

I've done a lot of different tours. For me, I try to go on tours that I think are gonna be fun. It's, like, grueling, and it's hard, and there's got to be an element to it that's exciting.

I'm for all the actor's struggle, the self-indulgent, painful journey, but I would rather have fun.

And when I perform on my own tour, I have to talk myself into going out on that stage every single night.
