The down side of Americans being obsessed with pop culture is that they kind of like it light.

Being an American is such a rich environment, because there's so many people from other countries and cultures, and through that you're able to see other people's experiences.

We've all been influenced by American naturalism, and to ignore that entirely would be impossible for me as someone who works primarily in film.

We live in a youth-obsessed, aesthetically obsessed culture. That is no more evident than in the film industry.
