It's just so much more exciting to have no limits and to be able to take your character as far as you want or need to get where you want to go.
Sentiment: POSITIVE
For me to have the opportunity to stay with one character for, God willing, a long period of time, is really exciting.
I enjoy pushing my characters to the limit. No matter how far out there I go, I look for things that make the characters human.
To be honest, when you're running a series and you have an open end, you don't want to limit yourself too much with the choices you've got for a particular character.
The more limitations you put on a character, often times the better a character you'll make them, the more interesting the story becomes because the character can't simply wave a hand and make something happen. They have to work within the framework.
It's just so much fun to make up characters, situations, and everything else about a story. I have so much freedom and flexibility to do whatever I want.
It's a great feeling to be wanted, but it's more exciting to be inaccessible.
But to be part of helping create a character and be a part of something from the beginning - the excitement of it - it doesn't get any better.
Those are the kinds of roles you can really sink your teeth into. Characters with an edge. When you're playing someone who's sort of seedy, there's less limitation, there's so much space you can travel. There's room to move in.
It's always good to have a limit because it forces you to think about all the ways to get what you want.
To get where you want to go you can't only do what you like.
