I love going to conventions, and I love spending time with the fans and going to parts of the world where I wouldn't normally go.

I do these conventions sometimes. We've been doing a lot of 'The Vampire Diaries' conventions, but I do Comic-Con and stuff all over the world. They can be taxing, and they can take it out of you a little bit, but it's just great for the fans.

Going to the conventions, seeing the incredible amount of love that people put into their clothing, costumes, gadgetry, and art of all kinds, is a huge treat for me.

I really do the conventions now for two reasons.

I love when I go to conventions, and often it'll be the younger kids who will refer to us by our character names - how can you not find that absolutely charming? I remember when I used to go to conventions when I was a kid when I would stand in long lines to get people's autograph.

All conventions are very enjoyable. The more variety you do, the better.

These 'Supernatural' conventions are such a great time. The fan base is like none other, and I'm sure I'll never experience a fan base that support is the same with - their kind of unbridled decency towards the actors makes me not have to worry about going into the crowd.

I've been to a few conventions, you know, when the tax man knocks at the door and the 'Star Wars' convention people say: 'Do you want to come and sign some autographs?'

I do personal appearances, and I meet my fans, and I am genuinely honored that they come out to say 'hello' and just to see me. It's so fantastic to see that they give it back.

I don't get recognized much, and am very happy with that. The fans I have met have all been delightful.
