It's fun to present stories that have a character that, really, everybody wants to be.

The things I write about are completely removed from my own life, but people want to know the characters better.

Character is always my driving force. And to tell a good story and to provide an entertaining read.

Sometimes it's less about the character and more about the story for me. I'll play a rock in the background if I think the story is fantastic and I can be a part of it somehow. That's what I look for.

I try to talk about things I know about. But my characters are more of a combination of people or how I imagine people would feel.

I love good stories; you have to have a good plot - characters which intertwine with a good plot.

The thing I respond to the most is just great writing, interesting characters. I like to think that there is something fun about playing a character that has a lot of authority in her own life.

I love stories. I just enjoy telling stories and watching what these characters do - although writing continues to be just as hard as it always was.

I am a firm believer that a good plot makes for a fun enough read, but it's not what binds us. If we don't care about the characters, we won't care - not in a lasting way - about what's happening to them.
