All men that date me have to know that their name may end up in a pop song.
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
I do pop, so pop is very broad. It could be anything from the Weeknd to Taylor Swift to Beyonce to whatever is on the radio, basically.
Nowadays in pop, there's not a lot of men that are singing big and loud and high - it's not as common as it once was.
I do want people to know that the songs that I wrote when I was with women were really about women. And the songs that I've written since have been fairly obvious about men.
I'm definitely a pop artist at heart.
The fact is, when you date an artist, you have to know that they're going to sing about you.
I get plenty of, 'Is that song about me?' from men but I just tell them to get over themselves.
I've never dated anyone in Hollywood - or anyone famous, for that matter. I don't know that I'm ever gonna write a song that you will know who it's about.
I think there's a good pop song in pretty much anything.
I used to be afraid to use the word 'pop' to describe my music, but underneath my tough, bad-girl sound, there's some fun.
I don't listen to the contemporary pop artists. They all sound alike, anyway.
