I don't want to say I hate remixes, because I don't, but I hate what instantly comes to mind now when people say 'remixes.'

I started making remixes for every specific girl I wanted to date. That's how I learned how to use Pro Tools, and then I started making my own music.

Remixes come very quickly, because you already have the melody and the vocals. I have a great passion for music, so it doesn't matter to me if it's a remix or an original production. I don't think about it as, 'Well, I have to spend three hours on a remix or I have to do something all original.'

I don't think of my music in terms of a career. I just want to get it out there and do it. I'm not manipulating my sound to be like anybody or trying to write to sound like anybody else.

I'd love to work with some of the people I've remixed for - Ed Sheeran or Chris Martin or The Weeknd. But it's not just big names like these guys that I want to collaborate with.

I like the way remixes sound. Some of them are really creative.

As a DJ, it's my job to break new music. And instead of it just being the stuff that's coming from the major labels or the big pop records, I've always gravitated to something that's just different, you know?

I hope to have a long career, and I don't want to be defined by things that aren't the music.

I started a recording studio. I started producing people and doing remixes.

I don't want to get caught up and be an artist always on the go. Because once you do that, it's hard to get into the studio and do what I do.
