After high school, I drove out to L.A. with a friend of mine who had just graduated also, and I started auditioning. I got an agent, but it was all 'Saved By the Bell' auditions.

In L.A., you constantly go on auditions, and you're usually not what they're looking for - you get used to going back and back to the same show, and nothing happens.

I held down as many jobs as I could find, from being a waiter to working at a yoga studio and as a ticket-taker at a small theater company - anything that would allow me to go out and do auditions.

I could have stayed in L.A. and done sitcoms for awhile and will probably go back and do one I hope.

My first audition was an open call and I had no picture and no resume - that's how clueless I was. I just thought I could show up.
