Gaming is the backbone of Nevada's economy.

Nevada Energy doesn't lose money. The gaming industry loses money. It employs all the people. It pays all the taxes. And if you take the P&L, the profit and loss, of the hotels in Las Vegas and Reno, it is a number that is minus, not plus, minus.

Nevada has a world-class economy. It will only build a world-class culture with world-class research universities coupled with the Desert Research Institute.

Tax cuts continue to benefit families, seniors, and small business owners, as evidenced by unparalleled economic growth in Nevada and across the country.

Nevada is a little different than most states. We only meet every other year in the legislature. So it's very important to have good relationships on both sides of the aisle... I have to have those relationships.

The casinos brought lots of revenue and jobs to our community. We've seen lots of benefits from those tax dollars.

The reality is that during the Reagan years, for instance, we doubled the amount of revenue that we were sending to Washington, D.C. after the tax cuts took effect.

Higher education is not growing fast enough to meet the needs of Nevada.
