I think in metaphysical terms, I would call that increasing the speed of the vibration of life.

I'm trying to look at many, many things in modern life that I believe are going faster, and I'm trying to look at why they're going faster and what effect they have on us. We all know about FedEx and instant pudding, but it doesn't mean we've looked at all the consequences of our desire for speed.

The Earth we evolved to inhabit is turning into something more turbulent and unreliable at a pace too fast for most living things to adapt to.

Life is short and progress is slow.

Now I'm no biologist, but it seems to make a lot of sense that slow lives, as well as being enjoyable, are long lives. One only has to think of the example of the tortoise for proof of this theory from the animal world.

People like to imagine that because all our mechanical equipment moves so much faster, that we are thinking faster, too.

What good is speed if the brain has oozed out on the way.
