After being on the court for six hours, being on TV is very glamorous and fun for me. But tennis is always going to be my priority. It's not going to be this thing when all of a sudden TV will get in the way of that.
Sentiment: POSITIVE
When I'm sitting at home in the off season and I don't have anything to do, I watch tennis on my computer. It's kind of boring. It's something to do.
If I'm being honest, I think I'd be good at television; I just don't know if I am interested, because you are kind of geographically responsible to a location, and frankly I don't know if I retired from tennis so that I could sit around tennis tournaments 12 hours a day.
I don't make a habit of watching tennis matches, but I try to watch all the major finals. I try to make time for that. So unless I have something going with the kids where I can't, I try to watch, and I enjoy that.
Many of us enjoy going to ball games and watching them on television. I am no exception. I love to watch a good athletic contest. If we spend excessive time with sporting events, however, we may neglect things that are much more important.
Tennis was never work for me, tennis was fun. And the tougher the battle and the longer the match, the more fun I had.
Everything is tennis for me, it's my career and it's entertainment, but it's also a business.
Tennis is my life, obviously; I need to focus, I need to win. But it's not the only thing. I'm not going to play forever.
I love seeing tennis up close.
Tennis is all about mental toughness, and you have to keep your head in the game. I make time to relax away from competition pressures, travel and intense training schedules to make sure I'm looking after myself. Taking time out with family and friends helps to maintain the work-life balance everyone needs.
I don't think about tennis 24/7. I enjoy time on the lake at my Florida home and just being lazy on the sofa.
