Actually, I think that a lot of the interviews and acoustic sessions and other things that artists fill their time with are really pointless and suck the energy out of the artist.
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
I hate artists who are not of their time.
I prefer career artists that have spent time honing their craft, as opposed to, 'I won a karaoke contest on a reality show and now I have a record.' That's such a drag. The music that comes out of it is so poor.
Hopefully it doesn't come as too much of a shock that artists we love watching or listening to for an hour or two aren't always people with whom we otherwise would want to spend 20 minutes.
A lot of artists don't like the sound of their voice. They're put off by it.
You get the feeling that on a lot of days the audience for most music would kind of rather not be faced with the artist, especially because we've been educated to think that the artist are these special creatures are otherwordly and aren't like us.
I think an artist has always to be out of step with his time.
I think there is an element of nihilism about, but I don't think most artists feel their work is meaningless.
There are so many great artists that are doing interesting things, that I don't want to focus on boring people.
I think one of the reasons musicians keep doing what they do and writers keep doing what they do, is that we're totally unsuited for anything else. And I for one am much too lazy.
I think all artists need to try to improve, or their work gets stale.
