Doing and making positive programming for young people is so important to me, and I will keep doing it.

Regrettably, people today don't watch many programs that actually teach people how to cook, so I agreed to do a competitive show that I think will provide inspiration.

We've got to be delivering young people, and people that are getting reeducated, people who are getting reemployed, into the marketplace with skills to work together, to understand computers, and to be able to be a part of that 21st century economy.

The makers of entertainment must try, in our field, to be honest and grown-up.

The best way we can encourage people to create companies that create jobs is to celebrate the diverse entrepreneurial stories and the variety of drivers that led these entrepreneurs to sticking their necks out.

America gave me the opportunity to open successful restaurants, start a TV show, and write books. I can even fill an auditorium when I give a speech, which in America is rare for a chef.

It's important that the adults appreciate that young people are capable of doing really astounding work.

It is incumbent upon all of us to build communities with the educational opportunities and support systems in place to help our youth become successful adults.

That business we started with 10 people has now grown into a great American success story.
