My goal is to generate more material for myself.

First, I'm trying to edit down about 7 hours of material which I made prior to the Cop days and find some way to get it out. This stuff is pretty out there, mostly sonic collages and tape manipulations.

I just want to do good material. If I'm right for it, and it connects with me, and the material is good, I'm not going to say 'I'm just going to do this' or 'I have to do one of everything.' I'm not thinking like that.

I don't like to attach myself to material things.

I don't like doing the same material over and over again. It's not fun.

You do a film and you know where you're going, you have this material to stretch and play with as much as possible because you know how it ends.

I don't write any of my material down. I like to improvise and be spontaneous.

You can make it if you try, push a little harder, think a little deeper.

You begin with the possibilities of the material.
