I never really was much of a practical jokester or anything.

I'm really bad at writing jokes.

I do things, and other people laugh at them. I rarely know what the joke is supposed to be or why they're laughing.

If a comedian tells a joke that you find funny, you laugh. If he tells a joke you do not find funny, don't laugh. Or you could possibly go as far as groaning or rolling your eyes. Then you wait for his next joke; if that's funny, then you laugh. If it's not, you don't laugh - or at very worst, you can leave quietly.

A joke is a way to say, 'I'm going to do something funny now. If I don't get a laugh at the end, I'm a failure.'

I've always been terrible on regular sitcoms with lots of jokes. I don't know how to tell jokes.

I detest jokes - when somebody tells me one, I feel my IQ dropping; the brain cells start to disappear. But something is funny when the person delivering the line doesn't know it's funny or doesn't treat it as a joke. Maybe it comes from a place of truth, or it's a sort of rage against society.

In real life, comedians aren't funny.
