In my situation there are often things I need to do for the team, so when I get the chance to relax it's all I want to do.

You create a blueprint of your best performance, and you're happiest the night you surpass that blueprint. That won't happen that often, but it will happen. It's like sculpting: you keep refining. When you have a piece that is yours, that is just you, that becomes obsessive; you think about it all the time.

I write every day... I never get ideas unless I'm actually writing. Ideas I get in the shower don't do me any good.

If I'm not doing something or working on something, I literally just sit in the room and think, which I don't think is productive. I won't go outside for days.

I'm always thinking of stuff; I just don't sit down and write it. I come up with material more as I go along; if something funny happens, I'll make a note of it on my phone.

I can write all the way through the morning, when my mind is clear, and there are no distractions.

The day I run out of ideas is the day I stop making records.
