People who don't believe in God may have their own way of justifying some bad act they have committed.

In the Christian faith, God really puts suffering front and center. He doesn't get squeamish about it.

Throughout history no one has suffered more than God. He has suffered because his own children fell away from him. Ever since the Fall, God has been working tirelessly for the restoration of mankind. People do not know this brokenhearted aspect of God.

As Christians, we worship a victimized Lord. We should expect to suffer and should have particular compassion on those who hurt emotionally and physically. But we do not resemble the Suffering Servant when we take pains to show off our suffering.

So many people live with anger and unforgiveness, and many of them are Christians.
