As grateful as we are for all the work the community health centers do, it is also important that we recognize that they cannot solve the health care crisis facing our Nation by themselves.

In this most powerful nation in the world, lack of access to health care should not force local and state governments, companies and workers into bankruptcy, while causing unnecessary illness and hospitalization.

We need more access to quality health care, not less.

Every country in the world is battling the rising cost of health care. No community anywhere has demonstrably lowered its health-care costs (not just slowed their rate of increase) by improving medical services. They've lowered costs only by cutting or rationing them.

There is just no reason why the richest nation in the world can't provide health care to all its people.

Capitalism can't deliver decent health care.

We will empower patients as well as health professionals. We will disempower the hierarchy and bureaucracy.

You can't have a healthy society unless you have healthy companies that are making a profit, that are employing people and that are growing.

Make health care a right, not a privilege.

By training and keeping doctors in underserved areas, we're working toward a goal of increasing access to quality health care for more of our communities.
