The horrific cases in Ferguson, in Staten Island with the death of Eric Garner, and all across the country serve as stark reminders that we must have a say in who polices us, and how that policing is done. We must, we must, let our voices be heard on Election Day.

I have no hatred for cops. I have hatred for racists and brutal people, but not necessarily the cops. The cops are just doing what they're told to do.

We must stifle the voice of hatred and faction.

We protest to our last breath against the purveyors of hatred, cruelty and violence.

Confronting and undermining the narratives and ideas of extremism must therefore be one of our key tasks. To do this, we must retain the courage of our convictions in the face of extremism.

Who can sit back as our towns and cities are torn apart by violence and be content with the status quo?

We must bring unity of spirit and purpose and condemn hatred and division wherever we see it.

There are better ways we can transform this virulent hatred - by living our ideals, the Peace Corps, exchange students, teachers, exporting our music, poetry, blue jeans.

I keep attacking the villains, the know-nothings, the people who want to take our freedoms away.

I am looking for suggestions on what we can do about extremists within our own society. They cannot be ignored.
