There are a lot of writers who just want to do their own thing and avoid the rest of the Marvel Universe. But for me that was one of the things I loved about Marvel: that shared universe. So of course you would run into a mutant in Manhattan. You would run into another hero in Manhattan. For me, I figured why not? Why not have that fun?

Everybody wants to be in the next Marvel movie.

I'd always wanted to do a Marvel project, and I'd always imagined getting to play one of the superheroes because it's such a hard thing to get. It's the parts that only go to a few people. The flip side of that is the antagonists are pretty awesome.

I'm not going to head off and do a Marvel film. So if I don't do a Marvel film, I don't have any other choice - I've got to go make a small New Zealand movie!

Marvel's got a crowded universe, and there are already so many characters hogging the spotlight that it's hard to break through that. First off, whatever character you're creating, odds are, there's already someone similar in one way or another.

I personally have not spoken to Marvel and have no plans to do a movie in the immediate future because, number one, I'm tied up with 'Somnia,' which is a fantastic place to be. It's exactly where I wanted to be.

My biggest thing is that I would love in some form or fashion to return to the 'Marvel' universe, whether in television or a feature. I love the people at 'Marvel' and grew up reading the characters, and it was a real dream come true getting to play with the toys.

I've been a Marvel reader since I was just a kid, and I've dreamed of being a Marvel writer for almost as long, so being tapped to officially join the team is truly something.

You have the massive world that was created by Marvel, and then you have these very intimate actors around you. There was as much character work on this as there would be on a little independent film. So, I felt very fortunate in that sense.

There are fantastic stories yet to be told featuring Marvel's characters, old and new, and I'm thrilled to be part of them.
