I guess there's this mind shift that happens once you're on stage. I don't know, chemicals, something happens and you just... I just become completely in control of where I am. I have this sensation of being in flight all the time, but being on stage is like creating a sanctuary in which you can completely lose yourself. The bits of your personality that you keep under wraps in ordinary life, you can let them run free.
I don't like feeling out of control. I have to feel like I'm in control of my body.
I like being on this stage because it keeps me thinking.
I feel like I own the stage.
I enjoy being in control, having a lot of creative control.
Being on stage makes me come to life. When all eyes are on you, they're watching every move you make.
When you're on stage, you're in control. No one can get to you.
Onstage I'm the one in control - I'm not at the mercy of how an editor chooses to put the scene together later. I can do things onstage that I would never do in real life. It's very freeing.
