I enjoyed playing someone who is a professional, intelligent, defined by her work and not her role as a wife or mother.

The thing I respond to the most is just great writing, interesting characters. I like to think that there is something fun about playing a character that has a lot of authority in her own life.

I look for characters who are emotionally driven.

Sometimes, as a young woman, you are boxed in more to playing characters that are emotional and vulnerable.

Every once in awhile I like to play dark ladies, crazy ladies, but most often I look for characters that are strong, intelligent, caring - usually earth women, because that's basically how I see myself.

I'll play a happy character, but most characters are driven by a pain or a fear. They are driven by something deep down, and most people are like that in the sense. And so, that's what interests me.
