I keep an elaborate calendar for my characters detailing on which dates everything happens. I'm constantly revising this as I go along. It gives me the freedom to intricately plot my story, knowing it will at least hold up on a timeline.

Like at Halloween: I knew I'd arrived when I saw people dressing up on Halloween as my character.

Halloween starts earlier and earlier, just like Christmas.

I always look forward to the holidays because I love dressing up in festive, shimmery evening dresses.

A lot of people celebrate their past, but I don't look at it all. I don't Google myself; I focus on the future. This is a volatile profession, and the moment you start thinking you've got something, that's when the floor beneath you falls through, so I hope to make more movies and TV shows.

Now everyone takes it for granted that you can look up movie reviews, track locations, and order stuff online. I wish there was a way we could take it away from people for a day so they could remember what it was like without it.

I am sure if you went back to the days of 'My Fair Lady,' they would have had one public dress rehearsal, and that is it. And in a way, I would like to go back to that. Now you have people tweeting and blogging immediately, so you may as well regard your first preview as your opening night because you are going to get reviews.

Halloween is my favorite holiday, and I always go all-out with my costumes.

Holidays are about experiences and people, and tuning into what you feel like doing at that moment. Enjoy not having to look at a watch.
