I've done a little directing, but I love acting more.

I view filmmaking as a director's medium.

I'm not particularly a career-oriented guy. I'm lucky. I can make really interesting films much of the time with interesting people yet be anonymous, have a private life. But, I'd like to have the choice of the better roles.

I definitely in filmmaking more and more find writing and directing a means to harvest material for editing. It's all about editing.

I learn a lot as a director from acting in other people's films and just in general.
