The Oklahoma City bombing was simple technology, horribly used. The problem is not technology. The problem is the person or persons using it.

Oklahoma has a respect for our neighbors. That's the Oklahoma standard.

Oklahoma City, Katrina... those happened to other unfortunate people. But 9/11, that happened to us all. And that was pretty much the genesis of 'Reign Over Me.'

You've got to respect people; you've got to understand where they come from. We know where people in Oklahoma come from - that's why we get along.

We must give Oklahoma families the opportunity to thrive and prosper. We must give all Oklahomans the tools necessary to pursue the American dream. And then, we must get out of the way.

What unites Oklahomans today is what has always united us: Our unshakable faith. Our love of family and compassion for others. The unlimited promise of a hopeful future.

Something called 'the Oklahoma Standard' became known throughout the world. It means resilience in the face of adversity. It means a strength and compassion that will not be defeated.
