Well, I actually first got into music as a small child, and as I became a teen, I sought out making money from music, weather that was singing lounge gigs, backup in studios, or weddings.

I worked full time jobs, basically doing manual labor until I could make enough money supporting myself as a musician.

If you're going into music, work on your music and do it as well as you can. And look at it as a business. I'm in it to make a living, too.

I had no idea that I could sustain a career as an artist. But, I loved music and wanted to be in the music business.

You know, I like playing music and playing guitar, and I like to draw, so I thought I would end up just probably barely making a living, or probably having to have some other job, but being involved in one of those things that I really like to do. But that didn't work out like that.

I was working at a non-profit for five years. But I could always create music after work. All throughout those years, I was writing songs and recording music and performing around town.

I have my dream job. I get paid to make music.

My success set me up for life, and it meant that I could retire from the music industry at 27 to spend time with my newborn daughter and my wife. My time away from the spotlight allowed me to rediscover my love for music, and I'm doing it for me now and no one else.

I am so blessed that all I've done in my professional life, since I was 17-18, is play music and somehow make a dollar here and there.
