I want to direct one day. I want to write my own thing and really be behind the scenes because you have more creative control.

Directing is something I've sort of always felt like I'd like to do at one point, and I thought the best way to start it is to write something myself or with someone and I'd go from there. My own material.

I've directed things that other people have written before, and I've written things and given them to other directors. So I'm very versatile in terms of that, and I enjoy all of it.

I am drawn to writing and directing as it is most like the feeling I had when I was a teenager with my puppet theatre. You are more in control of everything and involved in every aspect of production, so more challenged and fulfilled.

My goal was, and still is, to write first, direct my own stuff whenever possible and control my own creative destiny.

Now I'm kind of established as a director, I much prefer directing to writing.

At this stage, my chief professional goal is simply to keep on writing and making a living at it.
