Award shows, like the Grammys, were tough on us early in hip-hop, not even televising our categories or splitting them up on best male or female or any of that. We had to earn them.

I never had any expectations of winning a Grammy. It wasn't something I was set on, that I was hoping and praying and starving for.

We just couldn't seem to get the love from the Nashville awards shows... So Grammys really gave us validation, and so that's why they're such a big deal for us.

As we make our way toward the finish line that some of us have already crossed, I never thought I'd get a Grammy Award. In fact, I was always touched by the modesty of their interest.

It could be Grammy night, Oscar night, whatever - I don't feel the pressure to be there.

I think the Grammy is like the award, you know.

I think cool moments like winning a Grammy deserve a nice little party where you really soak it in and not have to work and stuff. I do remember throwing a party on that Grammy night, but it was work.

The Grammy is the highest honor in music that we can receive, outside of having fans come and watch you every night and clap.

The Academy Awards was an amazing night. I know I kind of lost my mind a little bit. I apologize for that. That night went so fast; I can't remember what I said or what happened.
