No one pretty much tells me what kind of horror films to make.

I don't like horror films. Horror films in the sense of the way horror films are now, like 'Saw,' I don't like that, I don't.

Well it's always been an element of the horror film to show us the gross out. I mean that's one option for all filmmakers making a horror film and it's not something I've found myself above either.

It is important to consider that the horror movies should - like modern art - not have a too obvious meaning. When you watch them, it is more important what you feel than what you understand.

As much as I like watching horror films, I never thought I would act in them.

We think craft is important, and the irony has always been that horror may be disregarded by critics, but often they are the best-made movies you're going to find in terms of craft. You can't scare people if they see the seams.
