Tradition is the illusion of permanance.

We are all part of a tradition, at least we depend on the past.

Tradition means giving votes to the most obscure of all classes, our ancestors. It is the democracy of the dead. Tradition refuses to submit to that arrogant oligarchy who merely happen to be walking around.

Traditions are the guideposts driven deep in our subconscious minds. The most powerful ones are those we can't even describe, aren't even aware of.

It takes an endless amount of history to make even a little tradition.

I like to be buttoned onto tradition. The thing is to improve it, twist it and mold it; to make something new of it; not to deny it. The riches of history can be plucked at any point.

Traditions are a common part of our lives. They can be good, and not all traditions are wrong, but sometimes they can take the joy out of life.

You can embrace nostalgia and history and tradition at the same time - it has to progress or it can't survive.

While we are living in the present, we must celebrate life every day, knowing that we are becoming history with every work, every action, every deed.
