I always wanted to do what my brothers were doing. I always wanted to play the games they played and play rough and wear pants and go outside.

As soon as I was introduced to ice speed skating, I was instantly hooked. I never thought about pursuing skating professionally; I just enjoyed doing it.

Even now I can't describe why I love skating so much.

Growing up, I absolutely loved skateboarding and dirt bike riding with my brother and the neighborhood kids.

I don't really remember a time younger than 5 years old that I didn't have skates on because all I can remember is every day, tying up my skates and a big smile on my face, excited to go on the ice.
