Few states, they have the international borders, state borders; in India, there is so much diversity in system. Unity in diversity is our system, so therefore, you cannot take for granted, whatever you do.

If we dispense with some of our self-made boundaries, India can really take its place in the world as an economic power. It hasn't happened because we, sadly, don't look at ourselves as Indians but as Punjabis or Parsis, unlike the Americans. Don't make such boundaries.

India absorbs things; India's not a divisive place.

The building of friendship, family, community and love is complicated. We are so isolated in this country, no longer supported by tribes and villages.

Foreigners have no idea of the diversity of India and its culture. We hope to be able to give them a glimpse of that diversity.

India is content with itself, and driven by the will to sit on the high table of prosperity. It will not be deflected in its mission by noxious practitioners of terror.

As a country that does not belong to any power bloc, India cannot afford to put itself in the position of needing multilateral support - a trap into which even developed countries, like Portugal and Spain, have fallen.

It's not quite right to be sitting outside India and to be judging what is happening in India.
