The kids growing up is a separate strand to your life. However bad a day you've had, that's the most important thing, and you have to remember that.

My wife and my three kids and my grandchildren are my life, but my horses and my dogs are everything else.

It's a hard call, but I've no desire to live my children's lives. I think my job as a father is to protect them, to allow them a safe place to grow up and to teach them what I've learned.

Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself. They came through you but not from you and though they are with you yet they belong not to you.

My children are my life. They're so spectacular.

Every single decision I make about what material I do, what I'm putting out in the world, is because of my children.
