Most people remember me for a couple of tunes.

When my song came on the radio for the first time, that was one of the heaviest things I remember.

I remember, when I was a kid, listening to the radio and hearing 'Big Bad John' by Jimmy Dean - and it just blew me away. I used to sit there and call the radio stations and request that song. And then the Beatles were obviously out already, but I really didn't know about the Beatles.

I became Iggy because I had a sadistic boss at a record store. I'd been in a band called the Iguanas. And when this boss wanted to embarrass and demean me, he'd say, 'Iggy, get me a coffee, light.'

I can't even remember the first time I started singing.

So don't get me wrong, I love my songs, and I still love hearing them. That's history, baby.

I still haven't been able to capture the joy of what it's like when I sing - you know, when I'm by myself, or like when I was a little kid.

I remember starting out and covering songs.
