You're not always going to come out on top.

I want to go out at the top, but the secret is knowing when you're at the top, it's so difficult in this business, your career fluctuates all the time, up and down, like a pair of trousers.

Getting to the top is one thing, but staying there is quite another. That's the difficult bit.

I just know you can not be on top forever. There's always going to be the next guy, and if I'm going to go down, I'd like to know I helped the next guy take my spot. You can't prevent the inevitable, but you can join the ship.

Getting to the top isn't bad, and it's probably best done as an afterthought.
