So there was a way for you to get promoted and survive as an artist without worrying about AM radio hits.

The problem was the journalists who also did not understand much of my music, but they wrote about it. I think you fell into the usual trap laid out by parts of the press and other writers: that the poor musician has always to fight the evil companies and managers.

I wanted the songs to be themselves, instead of worrying about all this crazy slickster production.

Apparently, there's this whole set of disgruntled people but obviously it's not my intention to offend anyone by changing the style of music that I've done.
