I still talk incessantly about 'SCTV,' and I say, 'Screw the kids!'
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
The kids don't really have any part of my television life. Fortunately, there aren't many times when show business intrudes on our family existence.
There will always be another group of kids going to college, drinking beer, and discovering that movie. Many of them have never even heard of SCTV.
Me personally, I wouldn't put my kids on television. But to each his own.
I don't watch a lot of TV anymore. A lot of it isn't the kind of thing you can feel comfortable with watching with your kids. And I still feel that way even though, now, my kids are in their 30s.
With my child, I hardly watch TV now.
I grew up on the golden age of children's TV.
I have to admit, I never watch television; once in a while I'll see things, but I grew up without it. I had a father who said, 'I hate television;' it came into being when he was a kid, and he didn't have it, so he didn't think I needed it.
This was more of a cartoonish thing for me and it kind of took me back to SCTV, in a way, where the characters are just a little broader and you can have that kind of fun going a little over the edge.
I would like for my kids to at least have some familiarity with who I am: 'It's the man from TV!'
I've no patience for people who say they never watch television. It's a great way to keep in touch with popular culture, and it's important that children can relate to what their schoolmates are watching.
