We've had no problems with the actors, but we keep a really loose set.
Sentiment: NEGATIVE
Some actors are supposed to be very difficult, but I've not found that to be the situation.
Our feeling is that the most important thing on a set is that actors have enough confidence to try different things. If there's stress or tension, they won't go out on a limb because they won't want to embarrass themselves if they don't feel completely comfortable.
When the scenes are written really great, we as actors try not to mess them up by getting in the way.
A lot of actors flame out.
Directors have so much else to do besides tell actors what to do. There are so many issues and problems.
I don't want to be involved with an actor because I know how they are. I've had problems in the past being with guys who haven't had any success or haven't made as much money, and it's very uncomfortable.
The idea that you must treat actors a certain way in order to get a performance out of them kind of disturbs me, and it's disregarding what we do. Our job is to do our job.
Actors put ourselves in awkward positions all the time.
I guess actors are very sensitive people. We're porous.
Even actors are human beings, so we have issues to deal with - physical, emotional, and mental.
